The H5N1 virus neuraminidase gene (N1 NA gene) has been successfully amplified and cloned into a shuttle vector known as pKLAC2. DNA sequencing confirmed the presence of the NA gene.

Then:

Yeast transformations were done as followed;

1. Transformation  by kit – 3 times
2. Electroporation;
  - Sanchez et al, 1993 – 4 times
  - P. L. Bolen & E. J. McCutchan, 1992 – 4 times
3. Heat shock (Ito et al, 1982)- once

Now:

Still, no positive transformant obtained...
